It's Thursday, so that means there are less choices in the morning for the kids to choose from when they're getting ready for school. This morning D didn't like his pant options...okay, option...and we had a conversation that went a little something like this:
me: Here you go buddy, mommy needs to do laundry tonight, so let's wear these pants today. *hands him black corduroys* D: *whining* noooo, I don't like those paAAaaannnnntttttsssss me: sorry buddy, it's not a choice today D: *excited voice* Mom! How about I wear my Captain American costume with a shirt on top so that I don't have to wear these pants!? me: *trying not to chuckle* That is a great way to try to solve your problem, but that's not a choice today. I'm going to get ready, you need to get dressed, brush your teeth, then come upstairs. *20 minutes later* me: *coming out of the bathroom wondering how he'll be dressed and finding him in his Captain American costume with a batman T-shirt on top*.....oh, D, I told you that wasn't a choice today. D: but Mom, *rubbing his chest* I wanted big muscles me: *trying really hard not to laugh* I understand, but those clothes aren't appropriate for school today, let's go get changed.
Don't worry, when we got home from school today he changed into his Captain American costume and wore it with a tie and jacket...because Cap was apparently going to a party, so he had to wear his handsome clothes :) The way little guys think and imagine never ceases to amaze me.
